Netball Nation pundit, and Leeds Rhinos Head Coach Margaret Birkinshaw has called out which teams will finish in the coveted top four spots of the 2019 Vitality Superleague.
We've only enjoyed one round of Superleague games this season, but Margaret Birkinshaw has predicted that Team Bath, Wasps, Manchester Thunder and Saracens Mavericks will claim the top four spots at the end of the season.
"If we're all putting on our Coach's hats and going by what we see, on paper I'd predict those teams in the top four" she said.
"I will say on paper however, as we also know that anything can happen throughout the season" Birkinshaw added.
The Superleague teams that finish in the top four, will play in the Semi-Finals on the 11th May, and the winners of each game will go on to play in the Superleague Grand Final on the 18th May.
Director of Netball at Loughborough Lightning Sara Bayman agreed that Bath, Wasps, Thunder and Mavericks will be the favourites for top four, and there will be other teams in the mix. She added:
"For the rest of us, who people wouldn't necessarily perceive as top four favourites', we're going to have to scrap like hell to get in there."
Round two sees Lightning taking on Severn Stars at home, and Bayman said she'll be asking for "consistency in all four quarters" from her team following their heavy defeat to defending Champions Wasps in round one.
Other round two fixtures include Strathclyde Sirens taking on Team Bath in Glasgow this evening, with Surrey Storm versus Saracens Mavericks and London Pulse against Celtic Dragons tomorrow.
