Countdown to Super 10 2019 begins

Next Saturday (5th January) gives netball fans the first chance to see their teams compete in the Vitality Superleague opening round of fixtures.

All 10 Vitality Superleague teams will compete at Arena Birmingham on the opening day of the season

All 10 Vitality Superleague franchises will compete on the same day, and all matches will be shown on Sky Sports, meaning there will be no need to leave the sofa on Saturday 5th January!

Tickets are still available to attend the netball spectacle and can be purchased here.

The opening game of the day will see Celtic Dragons take on Team Bath, and will see the return of Serena Guthrie to the blue and gold, following her success in the Australian Super Netball competition.

Game two will be a rematch of the 2018 Vitality Superleague final, with Wasps taking on Loughborough Lightning. This will be an interesting match up with the arrival of Sara Bayman as Director of Netball at Lightning, and she'll be testing out new combinations against the defending Champions.

New side London Pulse will get their first Superleague outing underway next, and will be taking on Severn Stars who're set for their third season in the competition. This will be an exciting match up, with lots of new signings and combinations on display.

Game number four sees UWS Sirens take on Surrey Storm who've recently appointed player Mikki Austin as Director of Netball. UWS Sirens will also be excited to unveil their star signing, ex-Silver Fern Cat Tuivaiti, and this looks set to be an exciting match up as the North takes on the South in this moth watering fixture.

The final game of the day sees top-four regulars Manchester Thunder take on benecos Mavericks. This is bound to go to the wire, but with Dan Ryan back in Thunder colours as Assistant Coach to Karen Greig, Thunder will be keen to show what they can do in this year's competition.

Netball Nation will be launching our first podcast on Thursday 10th January, and we'll be talking about all the action from the opening fixtures, and looking ahead to the 2019 season with our presenters Emma Jones, Sara Bayman & Maggie Birkinshaw.
